Popular people..in general.

I mean, school age. That would be ages 6-18 in the United States. Approximately, anyway. These people annoy me, a lot.

There was this thread started up on this website that I visit. The link is below. It was this girl asking everyone what they really thought of popular people. These are major internet people we're talking about here. Smart, intellectual, nerdy types.

I want to know what everyone really thinks about popular kids. I've never had anyone who wasn't popular tell me what they really thought about us. I would love to know what it's like on the other side.
I was popular in elementary school, I had a lot of friends in my own grade plus I made a lot of older friends so I was pretty well known in the higher grades. I was in one of the most popular groups at my junior high and I'm sure my friends and I will remain popular once I start high school this fall.
So feel free to express you opinion about us -ice_princess1326

So of course all these people started telling her how amazingly messed up she is...
And she comes back with this:
In fact I know that probably all of my current friends will succeed in life. Most of us including me were in honors classes in junior high and those of us who weren't still got good grades. We didn't get in any major trouble. Of course there was that guy who causes trouble and that girl who flirts with and has dated almost every single guy in the group. We would only date our guy friends in our group or in one of the neighboring popular groups, we would only date them because we knew them so well.
The way we would include new people was by the way they dressed and the way their hair looked, then we would get to know their personality. We are really nice people, we talk to the "normal" people as you call them. I have had nice conversations with them. We just laughed at and shunned the really dorky people.
In 8th grade my girl friends were in ASB, my friend Kat was President. My guy friends were actively involved in at-lunch sports. Most of us even joined the track team last spring. 4 of my friends made the freshman cheerleading team and my other friend and I tried out but didn't make it.
We are such nice people. I think that it's appalling the way the popular kids are like at all of your schools. We are nothing like the type casting. Sure we can be snobby to dorks and people we don't like but who isn't.

Grr..talk like this makes me want to smack people..
So my response:
ice_princess1326..I don't mean to be rude..but you make me want to puke.
If you don't learn in high school, I hope to God that you will when you get out into the real world.

From my experience with popular people at my high school..the reason they are all in the honors classes is that they all cheat. None of them like to read..or learn for that matter. It may be different where you are, and if so good.

But judging people on the way they dress and only talking with people from other popular groups?

You're messed up. The world does not cater to your views. Sooner or later, we all have to grow up and realize that the world is not run the way it was when we were 13.

I'm not popular, but I may have gone through the "dork" phase. And as it was, I came out of it knowing who my real friends are. I know I have a future, relying on my brains and ingenuity..not someone elses. I have my own style. I don't rely on other people for fashion advice. I do what is comfortable.

The popular people at my school are airheads..more concerned with sex and hair and looks..than what is really important. Having real friends and a real existence. Know who you are without it having to be dictated by those around you. I am an individual..sorry, you're not in that club.
